Aarashat Dokavanyapoorvi

मंगला गोडबोले या मराठी साहित्यातील एक प्रसिद्ध लेखिका असून त्यांच्या विनोदी, सूक्ष्म निरीक्षणक्षम आणि सामाजिक जाणिवांनी समृद्ध लेखनासाठी त्या ओळखल्या जातात. त्यांचा जन्म २ फेब्रुवारी १९४९ रोजी पुणे येथे झाला. त्यांनी मुंबई विद्यापीठातून मराठी व भाषाशास्त्र या विषयांत उच्च शिक्षण घेतले. अनेक दशकांच्या साहित्यिक कारकिर्दीत त्यांनी निबंध, कथा, कादंबऱ्या आणि बालसाहित्य अशा विविध प्रकारांत ६० हून अधिक पुस्तके लिहिली आहेत. त्यांच्या लेखनात मध्यमवर्गीय जीवन, कुटुंबव्यवस्था आणि स्त्रीविषयक प्रश्न यांचे विनोदी आणि संवेदनशील चित्रण आढळते. त्यांनी ‘स्त्री’ या मासिकातून लेखनास सुरुवात केली आणि पुढे ‘माहेर’सारख्या नियतकालिकांत संपादक म्हणूनही काम केले. मराठी साहित्यातील अग्रगण्य विनोदी लेखिकांपैकी एक म्हणून त्यांना मान्यता मिळाली असून त्यांच्या साहित्यिक योगदानासाठी त्यांना अनेक पुरस्कारांनी गौरविण्यात आले आहे.

Mangala Godbole is a renowned Marathi writer known for her insightful, humorous, and socially reflective writing. Born on 2 February 1949 in Pune, Maharashtra, she completed her education in Marathi and linguistics from University of Mumbai. With a literary career spanning several decades, she has written more than 60 books, including essays, short stories, novels, and children’s literature. Her work often focuses on middle-class life, family relationships, and women’s issues, presented with wit and sensitivity. She began her career by contributing to the magazine Stree and later worked as an editor for publications like Maher. Widely appreciated for her unique style, she is considered one of the leading women humorists in Marathi literature and has received several awards for her significant contribution to the field.
