Jaab : Ek Nirbhay Aawaj

‘जाब’ ही कादंबरी समाजातील दुर्लक्षित, उपेक्षित घटकांचे वास्तववादी जीवन मांडते; तसेच उच्चभ्रू समाजातील कौटुंबिक ताणतणाव आणि मूल्यसंघर्षही उघड करते. जागतिकीकरणाच्या काळातही टिकून असलेला सामाजिक भेदभाव, जातीय विषमता आणि त्याविरोधातील मानवी मूल्यांची लढाई कादंबरीत ठळकपणे प्रतिबिंबित होते. प्रा. वसंत कांबळे, नयना, निरंजन, राधामावशी, पटवर्धन दाम्पत्य आदी पात्रांमधून संघर्ष, त्याग, माणुसकी आणि सामाजिक भान यांचे विविध पैलू उलगडले आहेत. अवयवदान, वृद्धाश्रमातील समस्या, परदेशस्थ अपत्यांचे पालकांकडे दुर्लक्ष, भ्रष्टाचार, दारिद्र्य, शिक्षणातील असमानता यांसारख्या ज्वलंत विषयांचा संवेदनशीलपणे ऊहापोह केला आहे. कादंबरी केवळ कथानकापुरती मर्यादित न राहता, सामाजिक जबाबदारी, मानवता, समता आणि सलोखा यांचा आग्रह धरत वाचकांना आत्मपरीक्षण व परिवर्तनासाठी प्रेरित करते.

Jaab is a novel that presents the realistic lives of marginalized and neglected sections of society while also exposing the family tensions and conflicts of values within the affluent class. The novel vividly reflects the social discrimination, caste-based inequalities, and the struggle for human values that continue to persist even in the era of globalization.

Through characters such as Prof. Vasant Kamble, Nayana, Niranjan, Radha Mavshi, and the Patwardhan couple, the story explores various dimensions of struggle, sacrifice, humanity, and social awareness. It sensitively examines pressing issues such as organ donation, challenges faced by residents of old-age homes, the neglect of elderly parents by children settled abroad, corruption, poverty, and inequality in education.
