भावानुवादकाचा परिचय

आर. जी. पाटील हे अर्थशास्त्र आणि राज्यशास्त्राचे प्राध्यापक होते. नंदुरबार आणि पुणे येथील महाविद्यालयात सेवा केल्यानंतर ते १९८० मध्ये बारामती येथील तुळजाराम चतुरचंद महाविद्यालयाच्या सेवेत रुजू झाले. तेथूनच ते जानेवारी २००८ मध्ये सेवानिवृत्त झाले. सेवानिवृत्तीपूर्वी चार वर्षे त्यांनी प्राचार्यपदावरही काम केले. त्यांचे महाविद्यालयीन शिक्षणही तेथेच झाले. एकूण ३२ वर्षांच्या सहवासात या महाविद्यालयाने त्यांना ज्ञान, मान सन्मान, कामातील आनंद आणि आत्मप्रतिष्ठाही दिली. त्याबद्दल ते महाविद्यालयाचे ऋण व्यक्त करतात.

परतत्त्वाला स्पर्श करणारे साहित्य सामान्य जनांना सहजपणे समजेल अशा भाषेत आणि शब्दात रूपांतरित करावे, असा त्यांना छंद आहे. प्रस्तुतचा ग्रंथ त्याच छंदाचा आविष्कार आहे. 'सुलभ ओवीरूप ज्ञानेश्वरी' या ग्रंथाचे त्यांनी लिखाण पूर्ण केले आहे. उर्वरित आयुष्यात संतश्रेष्ठ तुकारामांच्या निवडक अभंगाचा सखोल अर्थ 'तुका आकाशाएवढा' या नावाने ग्रंथ प्रकाशित करण्याचा त्यांचा मानस आहे.

R. G. Patil was a professor of Economics and Political Science. After serving in colleges at Nandurbar and Pune, he joined Tuljaram Chaturchand College in Baramati in 1980. He retired from the same institution in January 2008. Prior to his retirement, he also served as the Principal for four years. He had also completed his college education at the same institution. Over a span of 32 years of association, the college provided him with knowledge, respect, recognition, joy in work, and a sense of self-worth. He expresses his gratitude to the college for all of this.

He has a passion for transforming profound philosophical literature into language and words that can be easily understood by common people. The present book is an expression of that very passion. He has completed writing a book titled Sulabh Ovirup Dnyaneshwari. In the remaining years of his life, he intends to publish a work titled Tuka Akashaevadha, which will present an in-depth meaning of selected abhangas of the great saint Tukaram.
