जीवन जगण्याचा मार्ग म्हणजे धर्म, अशी धर्माची सहज-सोपी व्याख्या आहे. जो मनुष्यदेह आपल्याला लाभला आहे, त्या आधारे मानवतेला शोभेल असे वर्तन करीत जीवन व्यतीत कसे करावे, हे सांगणारा तो स्वधर्म. धर्माची ही एवढीच व्याख्या जर प्रमाण मानली तर समाजातील धार्मिक तेढ , वाद कमी होतील. त्यासाठी स्वधर्म म्हणजे काय आणि तो कसा समजून घ्यावा, यावर मंथन होणे गरजेचे आहे. हे या पुस्तकात मांडण्यात आले आहे.
