डॉ. आनंद ज. कुलकर्णी यांनी कोल्हापूर येथील शिवाजी विद्यापीठातून मेकॅनिकल इंजिनिअरिंग मधून पदवी व मुंबईतील बोर्ड ऑफ टेक्निकल एज्युकेशन येथून पदविका मिळवलेली आहे. संशोधनात तसेच आर्टिफिशिअल इंटेलिजन्समध्ये विशेष रस निर्माण झाल्यामुळे पुढे त्यांनी त्या विषयात कॅनडातील युनिव्हर्सिटी ऑफ रजायना येथून पदव्युत्तर शिक्षण पूर्ण केले व त्यानंतर सिंगापूर येथील जगप्रसिद्ध नानयांग टेकनॉलॉजिकल युनिव्हर्सिटी येथून डॉक्टरेट पूर्ण केली. त्याचबरोबर कॅनडातील युनिव्हर्सिटी ऑफ विंड्सर येथे आरोग्यसेवा तसेच वाहतूक या विषयांत रिसर्च फेलोशिपसुद्धा पूर्ण केली. त्यानंतर त्यांनी पुण्यातील सिम्बायोसिस आंतरराष्ट्रीय विद्यापीठात मेकॅनिकल इंजिनिअरिंगचे विभागप्रमुख तसेच प्राध्यापक व संशोधक म्हणून सहा वर्षे काम केले.

डॉ. कुलकर्णी सध्या पुण्यातील एमआयटी वर्ल्डपिस युनिव्हर्सिटीमध्ये रिसर्च इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ आर्टिफिशिअल इंटेलिजन्सचे संचालक म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत.

त्यांनी आजपर्यंत कित्येक विविध कीटकांवर तसेच मानव समूहांच्या व प्राण्यांच्या कळपांच्या वर्तणुकींचे गणिती रूपांतर व पुढे कॉम्युटर कोडींग करून इंटेलिजन्ट अल्गोरिदम्स तयार केले आहेत. त्यांच्या कोर्ट इंटेलिजन्स, आयडियॉलॉजी अल्गोरिदम्स, प्रोबॅबिलिटी कलेक्टिव्हज, स्नेल होमिन्ग अँड मेटींग सर्च अल्गोरिदम्स आदी अल्गोरिदम्सपद्धती जगभरात विविध क्षेत्रांत वापरल्या जातात.

डॉ. कुलकर्णी यांनी आजवर १२०हून अधिक संशोधनपर लेख तसेच ३०हून अधिक पुस्तके लिहिली आहेत. तसेच ते आर्टिफिशिअल इंटेलिजन्स संदर्भातील विविध विषयांवर वर्तमानपत्रांतून लिखाण करत असतात. विविध आंतरराष्ट्रीय नियतकालिकांचे संपादक म्हणूनही ते काम करतात. त्यांचे कित्येक विद्यार्थी जगातील अनेक विद्यापीठांत तसेच कंपन्यांमध्ये संशोधक म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत. त्यांनी आजवर भारताबरोबरच अमेरिका, कॅनडा, सिंगापूर, मलेशिया, फ्रान्स, दुबई, ऑस्ट्रेलिया आदी देशांत आर्टिफिशिअल इंटेलिजन्सच्या विविध पैलूंवर व्याखानेही दिली आहेत. 'सकाळ प्रकाशनाने'च प्रसिद्ध केलेल्या डॉ. कुलकर्णी यांच्या आर्टिफिशिअल इंटेलिजन्सच्या वाटेवर या पुस्तकाला २०२३मध्ये पुणे मराठी ग्रंथालयाकडून स्वातंत्र्यवीर सावरकर पुरस्काराने गौरवण्यात आले आहे.

Dr. Anand J. Kulkarni earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and a Diploma from the Board of Technical Education, Mumbai. Driven by a strong interest in research and Artificial Intelligence, he pursued postgraduate studies in the field at the University of Regina, Canada, and subsequently completed his Ph.D. from the world-renowned Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He also completed Research Fellowships in Healthcare and Transportation at the University of Windsor, Canada.

Following his academic pursuits, Dr. Kulkarni served for six years as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Professor and Researcher, at Symbiosis International University, Pune. He is currently working as the Director of the Research Institute of Artificial Intelligence at MIT World Peace University, Pune.

Over the years, Dr. Kulkarni has developed numerous intelligent algorithms by mathematically modeling the behaviors of various insects, human groups, and animal herds, and translating these models into computer-coded solutions. His algorithmic approaches, including Court Intelligence, Ideology Algorithms, Probability Collectives, and Snail Homing and Mating Search Algorithms, are widely applied across diverse fields around the world.

Dr. Kulkarni has authored more than 120 research papers and over 30 books. He is also a regular contributor to newspapers, writing on a variety of topics related to Artificial Intelligence. In addition, he serves as an editor for several international academic journals. Many of his students are now working as researchers at leading universities and companies across the globe.

He has delivered lectures on various aspects of Artificial Intelligence in India as well as in countries such as the United States, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Dubai, and Australia. His book On the Path of Artificial Intelligence, published by Sakal Publications, was honored with the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Award by the Pune Marathi Granthalaya in 2023.
