मोठ्यांसह लहान मुलांवरही सध्या माहितीचा प्रचंड भडिमार होतो आहे. आपल्याकडे येणाऱ्या माहितीमधलं काय घ्यायचे, काय नाही याचा विचार करायलाही कुणालाच उसंत मिळत नाही. त्याचबरोबर मुलांनी काय बघावे, वाचावे, ऐकावे, यावर ताबा ठेवणे शिक्षक किंवा पालक यांच्या हातात राहिले नाही. त्यामुळे कित्येकदा नको ती माहिती, जगभरात विविध देशात चालू असलेली युद्धजन्य परिस्थिती हे सगळंच मुलांच्या कानांवर पडत आहे. हे चित्र पाहत असताना मुलांच्या मनात भीती उभी राहू शकते किंवा वास्तवाची जाणीव त्यांना अस्वस्थ करू शकते. अशा वेळी, आशावादी कथा त्यांना दिलासा देऊ शकतात. अर्थात त्यामध्ये वास्तवाचा अंतर्भाव असायलाच हवा. कारण मुलं वास्तव पाहतात, ऐकतात, अनुभवतात. अशा कठीण परिस्थितीतही मार्ग निघतो, काढता येतो; असा विश्वास बालवाचकांना देणाऱ्या एकनाथ आव्हाड यांच्या या कथा आहेत. त्यामध्ये कुठेही खिन्न, विषण्ण असा सूर नाही. तो प्रयत्नवादी, आशावादी आहे.
Nowadays, not only adults but also young children are being bombarded with a massive amount of information. No one really gets the time or space to decide what information to take in and what to ignore. At the same time, parents or teachers no longer have full control over what children watch, read, or listen to. As a result, children are often exposed to unwanted information, including news of wars and conflicts happening across the world.
When faced with such a situation, fear can arise in children’s minds, or the harsh realities of life may make them uneasy. In such times, optimistic and hopeful stories can provide comfort and reassurance. Of course, these stories must still include elements of reality, because children observe, hear, and experience the world around them. The stories by Eknath Avhad show that even in difficult circumstances, there is always a way forward, and solutions can be found.
Nowhere in these stories is there a tone of despair or gloom. Instead, they are encouraging, hopeful, and full of positive effort, giving young readers a sense of confidence and optimism.
