* Dr. Jagannath Dixit is currently working as a Professor and Head of the Department at the Government Medical College in Aurangabad. Having more than 28 years of teaching experience at various medical colleges is a notable aspect of his personality.

* For his commendable contribution in the field of health education, he has been honored with 3 national-level and 4 state-level awards. The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences has conferred upon him the ‘Best Teacher Award (Medical Education)’ as well as the ‘Best of the Best Teacher Award’ for the year 2015–16.

* Through his skilled writing, he has authored 2 textbooks for medical students, textbooks for nursing students, and around 20 books on health education for the general public.

* He is actively involved in the voluntary blood donation movement and has personally donated blood 50 times.

* Inspired by the Late Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, he has been running the ‘Obesity and Diabetes-Free World’ campaign for the past four years.
