पंढरीची पायी वारी प्रत्येकाची वेगवेगळी असते. वारकरी आपल्याला आत्मिक आनंद मिळावा, यासाठी संतांच्या संगतीने हरिनाम करीत वारी करतात. भेदाभेद भ्रम अमंगळ हे तत्त्व जगणाऱ्या वारीत प्रत्येकजण निरनिराळ्या उद्देशाने वारीकडे पाहतो. त्यामध्ये स्वार्थापेक्षा आनंद आणि सेवाभाव हा भाग महत्त्वाचा असतो. जशी व्यावसायिकांची वारी, पोलिसांची वारी, अधिकाऱ्यांची वारी, पत्रकारांची वारी असते. त्याप्रमाणे गेल्या काही वर्षांपासून छायाचित्रकारांची वारी सुरू झाली आहे. वारीतील वेगळी छायाचित्र काढल्यानंतर स्वतःला मिळणाऱ्या आनंदाबरोबर ती वारी छायाचित्राच्या रूपाने घरी बसलेल्यांपर्यंत पोचविण्याचा आनंद काही निराळाच. सध्याच्या आधुनिकतेच्या काळात वारीनेही आपले रुप बदलले आहे.जगाप्रमाणे वारीही मागे राहिली नाही. तीही टेक्नोसॅव्ही झाली आहे. त्यासाठी, वारीतील छायाचित्र स्पर्धा आयोजित केली होती. ‘इंद्रायणी ते चंद्रभागा-आनंदवारी’ या पंढरीच्या वारीवर आधारित विशेष पुस्तकात संत ज्ञानेश्वर महाराज आणि संत तुकाराम महाराज यांच्या पालखी मार्गावरील वेगवेगळे पारंपरिक कार्यक्रम, रिंगण सोहळे, धावा, नीरा स्नान यासह दरवर्षी घडणाऱ्या घटनांची छायाचित्रे आहेत. तसेच छायाचित्रकारांनी त्यांच्या नजरेने टिपलेली वारीची अनेकविध रूपे या पुस्तकात पाहायला मिळणार आहेत. हे पुस्तक म्हणजे पंढरीच्या वारीचे छायाचित्ररुपी दर्शनच आहे.
A Visual Journey of the Pandharpur Wari
The pilgrimage (Wari) to Pandharpur is a unique experience for every individual. Devotees (Warkaris) undertake this foot pilgrimage chanting the name of God in the company of saints, seeking inner spiritual joy. The Wari embodies the principle of equality, where all divisions and differences are set aside as inauspicious. Each participant views the Wari with a different purpose, but beyond personal motives, joy and a spirit of service hold the greatest importance.
Just as there are groups like professionals, police personnel, officials, and journalists who participate in the Wari, in recent years, photographers have also begun to take part in this sacred journey. Capturing unique moments of the Wari through photographs brings immense personal satisfaction, but even more special is the joy of sharing this experience with those who cannot attend in person.
In today’s modern age, the Wari too has evolved—it has not been left behind by the world and has become techno-savvy. With this in mind, a photography competition was organized during the Wari.
The special book titled “Indrayani to Chandrabhaga – Anandwari”, based on the Pandharpur pilgrimage, presents photographs of various traditional events along the palkhi routes of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj. It includes images of rituals such as Ringan ceremonies, devotional runs (Dhava), and the sacred bath at the Nira river, along with many moments that occur every year.
Additionally, the book showcases the Wari through the unique perspectives of different photographers, capturing its many dimensions. This book is, in essence, a visual darshan—a photographic experience of the Pandharpur Wari.
