उर्मि दर्शन राठोड "उर्मि रुमी" पुणे की निवासी हैं, लेकिन आत्मा मूल निवास स्थान भोपाल में ही बसती है। विज्ञापन में स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर शिक्षा माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी राष्ट्रीय पत्रकारिता विश्वविद्यालय से प्राप्त की, और यूनिवर्सिटी टॉपर रहीं। जड़ें भोपाल के रेडियो से निकली हैं, जहाँ 94.3 माय एफ़ एम में रेडियो जॉकी रहीं तथा आकाशवाणी पर कविता पाठ आदि किए। पिछले 12 साल से सक्रिय रूप से लिख रही हैं। कवितायें, कहानियां खुद के लिए; और मार्केटिंग कंटेंट राइटिंग क्लाइंट्स के लिए करते करते, ईबुक्स और आर्टिकल्स / ब्लॉग्स लिखते हुए, कंटेंट कंसल्टेंसी तथा फिर खुद के पॉडकास्ट और किंडल किताब तक पहुंची हैं। विभिन्न कॉलेजों में कुछ वर्ष विजिटिंग फैकल्टी के रूप में मास कम्युनिकेशन तथा एडवरटाइजिंग विषय पढ़ाए यही उनके एम बी ए के भी विषय थे। एक पुत्री की माँ हैं और एक श्वान की भी।

Urmi Darshan Rathod, also known as “Urmi Rumi,” is a resident of Pune, though her soul remains rooted in her hometown, Bhopal. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate education in Advertising from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and was a university topper.

Her journey began with radio in Bhopal, where she worked as a radio jockey at 94.3 My FM and also recited poetry on All India Radio. She has been actively writing for the past 12 years. While she writes poetry and stories for herself, she has also worked on marketing content writing for clients, creating eBooks, articles, and blogs, eventually moving into content consultancy, and even launching her own podcast and Kindle book.

She has also served as a visiting faculty member for a few years at various colleges, teaching Mass Communication and Advertising—subjects she also studied during her MBA.

She is a mother to a daughter and also to a dog.
