'खाऊ हा पुरवून ठेवा' हा बालकवितासंग्रह असून यामध्ये मुलांचे भावविश्व व्यापलेल्या अनेक विषयांवर कवीने मुक्तछंदातल्या; परंतु सहज गाऊन म्हणता येतील अशा कविता लिहिल्या आहेत.

प्रबोधन करणे हा सिनकरांच्या कवितांचा गाभा आहे. बालमनाचे प्रबोधन करताना ते कवितेतून आईची माया, वडिलांचे प्रेम, पर्यावरणाचे महत्त्व, शिक्षणाची गरज आणि कालबाह्य होत चाललेल्या पत्रलेखनाचे महत्त्वही अधोरेखित करतात.

मंगेश पाडगावकर म्हणतात तसं, जी कविता मुलांना आवडते, त्यांना ती पुन्हा पुन्हा वाचावीशी वाटते, ती मुलांसाठी लिहिलेली कविता असते. अगदी तसाच प्रयत्न डॉ. विनोद सिनकर यांनी आपल्या कवितांमधून केलेला आहे.

या कवितांमधून बालमित्रांना आई-बाबा, आजी-आजोबा, ताई-दादा, वर्गमित्र, शाळा-शिक्षक, झाडे, वेली, फळे, पाने, फुले, डोंगर, नद्या असं सगळं अनुभवायला मिळतं.

मुलांशी रोज वेगवेगळ्या निमित्ताने होणाऱ्या संवादातून लेखकाने या कविता लिहिल्या असल्याने त्या बाल आणि कुमार या दोन्ही वयोगटातल्या मुलांसाठी उपयुक्त आहेत.

The children’s poetry collection “Khaau Ha Puravun Theva” contains poems in free verse that cover a wide range of themes reflecting the emotional world of children. The poems are simple enough to be sung or recited easily.

The essence of Dr. Vinod Sinkar’s poetry lies in imparting awareness. While enlightening young minds, his poems also emphasize a mother’s affection, a father’s love, the importance of the environment, the need for education, and the value of letter writing, which is gradually becoming obsolete.

As Mangesh Padgaonkar says, the poems that children love and want to read again and again are truly meant for them. Dr. Vinod Sinkar has made a similar effort through his poetry.

Through these poems, young readers experience relationships with parents, grandparents, siblings, classmates, teachers, as well as elements of nature like trees, vines, fruits, leaves, flowers, hills, and rivers. He was honored with the 2023 State Ideal Teacher Award by the Government of  Maharashtra.

Since 1993, he has been a teacher at Shri Saraswati Bhuvan Shikshan Sanstha in  Marathwada. In 2022, he earned a Ph.D. (Vidya Vachaspati) from Dr. Babasaheb  Ambedkar Marathwada University, focusing on Marathi children’s literature.

He has presented six research papers at various national and international  conferences.

He writes for children across genres such as poetry, stories, plays, and interviews.  His children’s poetry collection is “Khaau Ha Puravun Theva” (Pr. A. Mayboli  Publications, Mumbai).

He has edited “Lokshikshak: Pa. Ta. Wani Guruji” for the Janashakti Vachak Chaluval, and his poem “Vachan” is included in the Marathi textbook series “Balarang” for  fourth grade (Worldsmith Publications).

His stories and poems are included in the four-volume “Kavitanchya Gaav” and “Goshtinche Ghar” children’s encyclopedias edited  by Dr. Vijaya Wad and Dr. Nishigandha Wad.

He has published children’s literature in magazines for adolescents and children,  including Kishor, Mulanche Masik, Khelgadi, as well as Diwali special issues of  Kishor, Balkumar, Rigved, Jyot, Huppa Huyya, and others.

He has contributed over 75 educational articles, stories, poems, and quatrains to newspapers like Dainik Sakal, Divya Marathi, Lokmat, Lokpatra, Loksatta, Tarun Bharat,  Saamana, and magazines such as Jeevan Shikshan, Prathamesh, S.Bhu..

In 2000, he published a children’s interview series “Mage Valun Pahataana” in Dainik Tarun Bharat.

He has served as a member of the Maharashtra State Curriculum Framework  Committees (2010 & 2024). He has also reviewed and conducted post-publication evaluations for Marathi Balbharati textbooks for grades 1-8 at the Maharashtra State Textbook Bureau.

He is the author and editor of Balbharati Marathi Self-Study Books for grades 4 and 8, and has contributed to the Sulabhbharati Marathi  Grade 6 Setu Study Book.

Additionally, he has served on committees for selecting supplementary reading  materials for primary school students.
