After completing worldly responsibilities, especially in the later phase of life after retirement from work, how one chooses to live depends largely on one’s perspective, life experiences, and future responsibilities.
Renowned writer from the Konkan, Vaishali Pandit, firmly decided to experience life after retirement with enthusiasm, sensitivity, and fullness. From this mindset emerged the collection of literary essays titled “Mantrabhool.” Speaking about it in her reflections, she says:
“Having newly retired from worldly responsibilities, when I finally became free to be myself… for myself… I began to notice hundreds of butterflies of joy fluttering around me. I did not just see them; they colored me in their enchanting shades. The spell of that happiness began to cast a magical trance upon me.”
This collection consists of 26 essays inspired by the many simple yet beautiful experiences the author encountered in everyday life, journeys undertaken for personal reasons, and the people she met along the way. Although these experiences are personal on one level, they also contain much that can enrich readers and bring them joy.
