The late Deepak Karandikar was well known as a poet, ghazal writer, author, and playwright. He also served as the former executive member of Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad.

He was a disciple of the renowned ghazal maestro Suresh Bhat.

His published works include the ghazal and poetry collections “Dhuni Ghazalanchi” (2001) and “Kavikul” (2009), the devotional text “Abhinav Shrivenkatesh Mahatmya” (2016), and the literary novel “Tirupati” (2020).

He also wrote the five-act musical drama “Shrinivas Padmavati Vivah Natak” (2022) and the book “Ghazalsamratanchya Sahavasat” (November 2022).
