Dr. Nitin Unkule obtained a diploma in Yoga Practice from Kaivalyadhama Yoga  Institute, Lonavala, and later earned doctorates in Meditation and Yogasanas.

He has over 40 years of yoga practice and 34 years of teaching experience.

He founded the Kaivalya Yoga Institute in Pune in 1979, which  now has centers in Germany, the United States, and Sri Lanka.

He has conducted hundreds of workshops and conferences in  India and abroad on topics such as yoga, pranayama, and stress management.

He has authored fourteen books, including:
“Arogyam Manasampada,” “Madhur Yoga,”  “Hridaya Swasthya va Yoga,” “Pranayama,”  “Yoga and Life,” “Nadabrahma,” “Attack the Attack,”  “Shavasana,” “The Law of Rhythmic Breath,” “Cancer,  Care, Mysteries and Yoga”, among others. He also  writes regularly for newspapers and magazines.

In collaboration with Dr. Jagdish Hiremath, he conducts  special programs for heart  patients, and with Dr. Shailesh  Puntambekar, for cance r patients—focusing on overcoming illness through yogic therapy. So far,  more than 15,000  patients have benefited from these treatments.

He is a Managing Committee Member of Symbiosis Society and a  former Chairman of the Health Care Committee of the Maratha  Chamber of Commerce, Industries and  Agriculture.

In 1992, he was honored with the “Professional Excellence Award”  by the Rotary  International Foundation, USA.
