जलसंधारण क्षेत्रातील तज्ज्ञ असणारे डॉ. राजेंद्र सिंह राणा 'भारताचे जलपुरुष' म्हणून ओळखले जातात.
जलसुरक्षा मिळवण्यासाठी आवश्यक जलसाक्षरता रुजवण्यासाठी राजेंद्र सिंह पाच दशकांहून अधिक काळ कार्यरत आहेत.
पाणी जपण्याच्या-राखण्याच्या-वाढवण्याच्या 'जोहड'सारख्या स्थानिक जलसंधारण साधनांचे, तंत्रांचे पुनरुज्जीवन करून राजस्थानात हिरवळ फुलवली; वर्षभर पाण्याची सोय करण्यात यशस्वी.
'रॅमन मॅगसेसे पुरस्कार', जल व्यवस्थापन क्षेत्रातील नोबेल समजले जाणारे 'स्टॉकहोम वॉटर प्राइज', अशा अनेक आंतरराष्ट्रीय पुरस्कारांनी सन्मानित

Dr. Rajendra Singh Rana is a renowned expert in the field of water conservation and is widely known as the "Waterman of India." For more than five decades, he has been dedicated to promoting water literacy as a foundation for achieving water security. By reviving traditional water conservation systems and techniques, such as the Johad, he transformed the arid landscapes of Rajasthan into greener, water-secure regions and helped ensure year-round water availability for local communities. His outstanding contributions to sustainable water management have earned him numerous prestigious international honors, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Stockholm Water Prize, often regarded as the Nobel Prize for water management.
