· फळबाग लागवड सल्लागार म्हणून कार्यरत. 

· अध्यक्ष, महाकाजू उत्पादक व प्रक्रिया उद्योजकता प्रशिक्षण संशोधन व विकास संघ (महाकॅश्यू). 

· काजू प्रक्रिया उद्योग विकासासाठी प्रयत्नरत. त्यांच्या प्रबोधनातून सुमारे २५० काजू प्रक्रिया केंद्रांची उभारणी केली गेली आणि त्याद्वारे सुमारे १५०००लोकांना रोजगार मिळाला  

· महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या कृषी विभागात १९७९ ते २०१० या दरम्यान कृषी अधिकारी म्हणून कार्यरत

Dr. Popatrao Baburao Kolekar works as a horticulture (fruit cultivation) consultant.

He is the President of the Mahacashu Association (Mahacashu – Cashew Producers and Processing Entrepreneurs Training, Research and  Development Organization). He has been actively working towards the development of the cashew processing industry. Through his guidance and awareness efforts,  around 250 cashew processing centers have been established, generating  employment for approximately 15,000 people.

He served as an Agricultural Officer in the Agriculture Department of the  Government of Maharashtra from 1979 to 2010.

He has also worked as an Assistant Professor at YASHADA (2010–11) and is a regular visiting faculty/lecturer at institutions such as S.I.L.C. and the  Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce.
