बैंक ऑफ इंडियामध्ये अनेक वर्षे सवा केल्यानंतर स्वेच्छानिवृत्ती घेऊन वंदना धर्माधिकारी यांनी पूर्ण वेळ गद्य व पच लखन, सादरीकरण, सूत्रसंचालन, परीक्षण असे त्यांचे इतर अनेक छंद जोपासले, 'सकाळ 'सह सर्व नामवंत वृत्तपत्रांमध्ये त्या नियमितपण चंकिगविषयक लेखन करत असतात, त्याचवरोवर विविध प्रकारचे साहित्य लेखन त्यांनी समर्थपण केले आहे.

आजवर अनेक पुरस्कारांनों त्यांना गौरवण्यात आले आहे. जसे की, पुण्याचा अभिमान, श्रीमती पुणे २००५, दुर्गा, Women of Influence महत्वाचा 'पत्रपंडित पां. वा. गाडगीळ स्मृती आर्थिक विकास लेखनपर साहित्य पुरस्कार तिसऱ्यांदा मिळाला. त्या महाराष्ट्रात प्रथम पुरस्काराच्या मानकरी आहेत.

About the Author: Vandana Dharmadhikari, B.A. (Mathematics), retired voluntarily after working many years at the Bank of India. After leaving banking, she devoted herself full-time to prose and poetry writing, presentations, event coordination, and examinations, along with many other hobbies. She regularly writes on banking-related topics in prominent newspapers including Sakal, and has also authored various types of literary works.

It has been 23 years since she left the banking profession, and she has published 23 books so far. Out of these, 18 books are on banking, and 15 of those have been published by Sakal Prakashan. Some of her banking books have been translated into other Indian languages, including five in Marathi, three in Hindi, three in Gujarati, two in Kannada, four in English, and one in Braille.

Maitri Bankingshi has also been translated into Hindi, Gujarati, and Braille. Swapnapurti Sathi Banking and Nandatai Cha Salaha were simultaneously translated in 2023 into Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, and English, reaching even rural women readers extensively. These translations also benefit Marathi readers who want access to her works in other languages.

Her book Maitri Bankingshi has received both central and Maharashtra state awards. The Braille version of Maitri Bankingshi is published in three volumes for visually impaired readers: Banking Jigyasa, Maitri Bankingshi, and Banking Horizon.

In addition to banking, Vandana Dharmadhikari has also published poetry collections, short story compilations such as Ghayalanchi Mot, and two collections of essays and critical writings, Aishwaryavati and Palavi-Adgula-Madgula (2 volumes).

She has been honored with numerous awards, including Punyacha Abhiman, Shrimati Pune 2005, Durga, Women of Influence, and the Patrapandit P. W. Gadgil Smruti award for literature on economic development. She is the first recipient of this award in Maharashtra.
