अनुभव आले

बिर्ला इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी अँड सायन्स (BITS), पिलानी येथून १९६८ साली अभियांत्रिकीची पदवी प्राप्त केल्यानंतर त्यांनी लगेचच ‘अजय मेटाकेम’ या कंपनीची स्थापना करून औद्योगिक क्षेत्रातील कार्यास प्रारंभ केला. त्याआधीच ‘पूना स्कूल अँड होम फॉर ब्लाइंड’ या संस्थेच्या व्यवस्थापकीय विश्वस्तपदावरून सामाजिक कार्याची वाटचाल सुरू केली होती. १९८५ साली ‘सकाळ’ समूहाची सूत्रे स्वीकारल्यानंतर त्यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली महाराष्ट्र व गोवा राज्यांमध्ये ‘सकाळ’चा सर्वांगीण विस्तार झाला. ‘सामाजिक बांधिलकी जपणारा उद्योजक’ म्हणून भारत सरकारने त्यांना ‘पद्मश्री’ पुरस्काराने सन्मानित केले. औद्योगिक, सामाजिक व माध्यम क्षेत्रांतील व्यापक अनुभव, ज्ञान आणि त्या निमित्ताने जोडलेली माणसे व संस्था यांच्या बळस्थानांचा शोध घेऊन, त्यांना एकमेकांशी जोडत समाजाच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी ते सातत्याने कार्यरत आहेत.

After receiving an engineering degree in 1968 from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, he immediately founded the company Ajay Metachem and began working in the industrial sector. Prior to that, he had started his journey in social work through the managerial trustee position at Pune School and Home for Blind. In 1985, after taking charge of the Sakal group, under his leadership, Sakal expanded comprehensively across Maharashtra and Goa. Recognized as an “entrepreneur who upholds social responsibility,” the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri award. Drawing on his extensive experience and knowledge in industrial, social, and media sectors, and leveraging the network of people and institutions connected through these, he continues to work tirelessly for the overall development of society.
