The work Budhabhūşana contains verses on various aspects of political administration such as king, minister, chief of the army, war, treaty, etc. This work was compiled by Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. From this we know the study and love towards Sanskrit of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In the present edition the original text, its Marathi and English translation along with notes, introduction and indices are given.

डॉ. मैत्रेयी देशपांडे ह्यांनी वेद आणि पाली ह्या विषयात दोन पीएच् डी. प्राप्त केल्या आहेत. त्यांनी पं. वसंत गाडगीळ (संस्कृतप्रचारक) ह्यांच्या सहकार्याने मराठी भाषांतराचे काम पार पाडले आणि इंग्रजी भाषांतर स्वतंत्रपणे केले. डॉ. गणेश उमाकांत थिटे (सेवानिवृत्त प्राध्यापक, विभागप्रमुख संस्कृत-प्राकृत-भाषा-विमाग, सावित्रीबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापीठ, पुणे) ह्यांनी दोन्ही भाषांतरे तपासून त्यात सुधारणा केल्या.

Dr. Maitreyee Deshpande has obtained two Ph.D.s in Veda and Pali respectively. In collaboration with PL. Vasant Gadgil (Sanskrit Propagator) she translated the text into Marathi and translated into English independently. Dr. Ganesh Umakant Thite (retired Professor and Head of Department, Department of Sanskrit and Prakrit Languages, Savitribai Phule University of Pune, Pune) checked both the translations and suggested numerous corrections.
