About this book

“Dhoomdhadaka” is a collection of short stories written by Mayuresh Kulkarni, comprising a total of 27 stories. Along with providing pure entertainment to readers, Kulkarni skillfully uses these stories to satirically comment on real-life systems and social realities.

Some of the experiences portrayed in the stories are true, while others are fictional. In one imaginative story, the author creates the concept of a literary conference of animals. Several stories offer vivid glimpses into rural life. The author’s close observation of human nature is presented in a very simple and relatable manner throughout the collection.

The story “Niraksharancha Survey” (“Survey of the Illiterate”) is an exceptionally humorous and entertaining piece included in the book. While entertaining readers, the author also aims to awaken human sensitivity and inspire people to undertake meaningful work for society. With this purpose in mind, he has written this engaging collection of stories.
