• ‘दृष्टी’ हा लेखिका कांचन शेंडे यांचा पहिलावहिला लेख आणि कविता यांचा संग्रह आहे. सौ. शेंडे या अलीकडेच पुण्याच्या स.प. महाविद्यालयातून उपप्राचार्य म्हणून निवृत्त झाल्या. या लेखसंग्रहात साधारण २० लेख आणि शेंडे यांच्या साधारण १६ कविता या संग्रहात आहेत.

• लेखिकेने मनोगतात म्हटल्याप्रमाणे यातील बरेचसे लिखाण हे त्यांनी फेब्रुवारी २०२० ते मार्च २०२१ या काळात केलेले आहे. कोरोनाच्या महामारीमुळे जे निर्बंध घातले गेले, त्यामुळे लेखिकेला थोडीशी उसंत आणि मोकळा वेळ मिळाला आणि त्याचे फलित म्हणजे हा कविता-लेख संग्रह.

• या संग्रहाच्या उचित शीर्षकाप्रमाणे या संग्रहातील बहुतांश लेख हे लेखिकेला आयुष्याच्या प्रवासात आलेल्या मौलिक अनुभवांतून जन्माला आलेले आहेत. यामधील काही लेख हे एखाद्या ठिकाणी केलेल्या निरीक्षणातूनही आलेले आहेत. या लेखांचा साधारण विषय हा आयुष्यात आलेल्या या अनुभवांनी गोष्टींकडे आणि जगण्याकडे पाहण्याची नवी दृष्टी कशी दिली असा आहे.

Drushti is the very first collection of essays and poems by the author Kanchan Shende. Mrs. Shende recently retired as Vice Principal from S.P. College, Pune. This collection includes around 20 essays and approximately 16 poems written by her.

• As the author mentions in her note, most of the writings in this collection were created between February 2020 and March 2021. Due to the restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the author found some free time and space, which ultimately resulted in this collection of poems and essays.

• True to its meaningful title, most of the writings in this collection are born out of the valuable experiences the author encountered during her journey through life. Some essays are also inspired by her observations at different places. The central theme of these writings is how these life experiences shaped a new perspective towards life and the way of living.
