Durgabhramanti… is the book version of the Diwali issue published in 2021 by the Sakal Kolhapur unit, bringing the grandeur and significance of Maharashtra’s forts to readers. There are more than 454 forts in the state, of which approximately 90 are protected under the state and central government’s archaeology departments. Each fort, with its unique structure, geographical location, historical background, and associated stories, teaches us different lessons. Many forts entice climbers to take daring adventures; the thrill and excitement of scaling their steps can be experienced by readers through this book.
Additionally, the story of the cannons used for fort defense is also an important part of the book. It does not merely describe the forts; it explains the history of these cannons, how they were used, and the role they played in the military strategies of the forts. This allows readers not only to access historical facts but also to experience the tactics, planning, and courage of the people of that era.
