Dyanprakash : History of Newspaper

डॉ. अनुराधा गोविंद कुलकर्णी या पुणे (७११, नारायण पेठ, लक्ष्मी रोड, पुणे – ४११०३०) येथे कार्यरत असलेल्या इतिहासतज्ज्ञ आणि संशोधक आहेत. त्यांनी इतिहास विषयात एम.ए., ‘पेशवेकालीन पुणे : एक सामाजिक अभ्यास’ या विषयावर एम.फिल., तसेच ‘ज्ञानप्रकाश’ या वृत्तपत्राची कामगिरी (१८४८–१९०४) या विषयावर पीएच.डी. पदवी प्राप्त केली आहे. महाराष्ट्राचा गौरवशाली इतिहास मूळ कागदपत्रांच्या आधारे पुढे आणणे आणि त्यात सतत नव्या संशोधनाची भर घालणे या उद्देशाने त्या गेली १५ वर्षे मराठा इतिहासाशी संबंधित मूळ कागदपत्रांचे संशोधन व संकलन करत आहेत. तसेच त्या मोडी लिपीतील कागदपत्रांचे देवनागरी लिपीत रूपांतर करून त्यांचे प्रकाशन करण्याचे कार्यही करीत आहेत. या कामासाठी त्यांनी महाराष्ट्र शासनाचे मुंबई, पुणे आणि कोल्हापूर येथील पुरालेखागार, भारत इतिहास संशोधक मंडळ (पुणे), राजवाडे संशोधन मंडळ (धुळे), वागदेवता मंदिर (धुळे) तसेच महाराष्ट्रातील काही घराण्यांच्या ताब्यातील कागदपत्रांमधून निवडक मूळ दस्तऐवज संकलित व संपादित केले आहेत. त्यांच्या प्रकाशित ग्रंथांमध्ये ‘लेखन प्रशस्ती’, ‘शिवछत्रपतींची पत्रे’ (खंड १ व २), ‘शिवचरित्र साहित्य’ (खंड १५) आणि ‘महासाधू मोरया गोसावी यांना मिळालेली इनामपत्रे’ (खंड १६) यांचा समावेश आहे. त्यांनी छत्रपती घराण्याशी तसेच आढळराव, शितोळे आणि चिंचवड देव अशा ऐतिहासिक घराण्यांशी संबंधित कागदपत्रेही प्रकाशित केली आहेत. त्या भारत इतिहास संशोधक मंडळ, ‘संशोधक’ (धुळे), भारतीय इतिहास संकलन समिती (पुणे विभाग), महाराष्ट्र इतिहास परिषद तसेच विविध वृत्तपत्रांमध्ये ऐतिहासिक विषयांवर लेखन करतात. भारत इतिहास संशोधक मंडळाच्या सक्रिय सदस्य म्हणून त्यांनी मंडळातील २७,००० पुस्तकांची सूची तयार केली असून तीन वेळा ऐतिहासिक प्रदर्शने आयोजित केली आहेत. याशिवाय त्यांनी विविध इतिहास परिषदांमध्ये संशोधनपर निबंध सादर केले आहेत.

Dr. Anuradha Govind Kulkarni is a historian and researcher based in Pune (711, Narayan Peth, Laxmi Road, Pune – 411030). She holds an M.A. in History, an M.Phil. on Peshwa-period Pune: A Social Study, and a Ph.D. on the contribution of the newspaper Dnyanprakash (1848–1904). With the objective of bringing forward the glorious history of Maharashtra through original sources and continuously enriching it with new research, she has spent the last 15 years researching and collecting primary documents related to Maratha history. She has also been actively engaged in transliterating original Modi script documents into Devanagari and publishing them. For this work, she has collected and edited selected documents from institutions such as the Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, Maharashtra Government Archives in Mumbai, Pune, and Kolhapur, the Rajwade Research Institute, Wagdevata Temple in Dhule, as well as from private family collections across Maharashtra. Her publications include Lekhan Prashasti, Letters of Shiv Chhatrapati (Volumes 1 and 2), Shivcharitra Sahitya (Volume 15), and Inam Documents received by Mahasadhū Morya Gosavi (Volume 16). She has also published documents related to the Chhatrapati family and other historical families such as Adhalrao, Shitole, and Chinchwad Dev. In addition, she has contributed articles on historical subjects to journals of Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, Sanshodhak (Dhule), Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti (Pune division), Maharashtra Itihas Parishad, and various newspapers. An active member of Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal, she has prepared a catalog of 27,000 books in the institution and organized three historical exhibitions, besides presenting research papers at various history conferences.
