भारतासारख्या विकसनशील देशात रोती व पशुपालन व्यवसाय जवळपास ७०टके लोक कोणत्याही पूर्वनियोजनाशिवाय करतात. शेतकन्यांना शेतीमध्ये नफा मिळत नाही. त्याला बरीच कारण आहेत. त्यापैकीच एक म्हणजे उत्पन्नाला मिळणारा दर पण हा दर किती मिळाला तर आपल्याला शेती परवडेल, हे ठरविण्यासाठी त्याला आपल्या उत्पन्नाचा उत्पादनखर्चच माहीत नाही. जर उत्पादनखर्च माहीत नसेल तर किती दर मिळाल्यावा आपल्याला हा व्यवसाय फायदेशीर टोल हे ठरविण्यासाठी पिकाचे उत्पादन घेताना प्रत्येक पायरीवर किती खर्च होतो, कोणत्या पद्धती वापरल्या याबद्दल सर्व नोंदी व त्याचे पृथःकरण करणे ही आजच्या काळाची गरज आहे. म्हणूनच ही कृषिदेनंदिनी शेतकऱ्यांसाठी कृषिसंजीवनी ठरेल याची लेखक म्हणून मला पूर्ण खात्री आहे.

In a developing country like India, nearly 70% of people are engaged in farming and animal husbandry without any prior planning. Farmers are not able to earn profits from agriculture, and there are many reasons for this. One of the key reasons is the price they receive for their produce. However, to determine what price would make farming viable, farmers often do not even know their cost of production.

If the cost of production is unknown, it becomes impossible to decide what price would make the business profitable. Therefore, while cultivating crops, it is essential to maintain detailed records at every stage—tracking expenses, methods used, and analyzing them properly. This is the need of the present time.

Hence, I firmly believe, as the author, that this Krushi Dainandini (agricultural diary) will serve as a lifeline for farmers.
