लेखक परिचय

डॉ. सुरेश शिंदे यांनी १९७५ साली वी. जे. मेडिकल कॉलेज, पुणे येथून पदव्युत्तर वैद्यकीय शिक्षण पूर्ण केले व गेली चाळीस वर्षे अव्याहत वैद्यकीय सेवा करीत आहेत.

विषबाधा, हृदयविकार, मधुमेह इत्यादी विषयावरील त्यांचे शोधनिबंध अनेक जागतिक वैद्यकीय परिषदा आणि नियतकालिके यामध्ये प्रसिद्ध झाले आहेत.

कीटकनाशकांमुळे होणाऱ्या विषबाधेवरील उपचारांविषयीच्या त्यांच्या संशोधनाला वैद्यकीय परिषदेमध्ये प्रथम पारितोषिकाने सन्मानित करण्यात आले आहे. मनोरंजनाबरोबरच लोकशिक्षणाच्या उद्देशाने, त्यांनी आपल्या अनुभवांवर आधारित लिहिलेले अनेक लेख वेगवेगळ्या माध्यमांमध्ये प्रकाशित झाले आहेत. त्यांच्या कामाची अनेक संस्थांनी दखल घेऊन त्यांना अनेकविध पुरस्कार प्रदान केले आहेत.

आधुनिक आहारशैलीचा अतिरेक व व्यायामाचा अभाव आणि त्यातून उद्भवणारे अतिस्थूलता, हृ दयविकार आणि मधुमेह यांसारखे जीवघेणे आजार कसे टाळता येतील यावावतच्या उपचारांविषयी संशोधन प्रकल्प त्यांनी सध्या हाती घेतला आहे.

'मधुमेही अवस्थेचे निराकरण करुन पुन्हा आरोग्य कसे प्राप्त करावे' हा त्यांचा आवडता विषय असून, त्यांनी या विषयावर निरंतर शिक्षण योजनेमध्ये वैद्यकीय व्यावसायिकांसाठी अनेक शहरांमध्ये व्याख्याने दिली आहेत. सध्या पुण्यामध्ये स्वारगेट येथे त्यांचे क्लिनिक असून, ते पूना हॉस्पिटल येथे मानद चिकित्सक म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत.

Dr. Suresh Shinde completed his postgraduate medical education in 1975 from V. J. Medical College and has been providing continuous medical service for over forty years.

His research papers on subjects such as poisoning, heart diseases, and diabetes have been published in several international medical conferences and journals. His research on the treatment of pesticide poisoning has been awarded first prize at a medical conference.

With the aim of public education along with engaging storytelling, he has written numerous articles based on his experiences, which have been published across various media platforms. His contributions have been recognized by several institutions, and he has received multiple awards.

Currently, he is working on a research project focusing on how to prevent life-threatening diseases such as obesity, heart disease, and diabetes caused by excessive modern dietary habits and lack of exercise.

“Reversing the diabetic condition and regaining health” is one of his favorite subjects, and he has delivered lectures on this topic for medical professionals in many cities under continuing education programs.

At present, he runs his clinic at Swargate in Pune and serves as an honorary physician at Poona Hospital.
