लेखिका डॉ. स्मिता प्रकाश जोशी यांनी 'एमएसडब्ल्यू', 'एलएलएम' आणि 'लॉ'मध्ये पीएचडी केली आहे.  जानेवारी, १९९७पासून पुणे येथे समुपदेशक म्हणून त्या कार्यरत आहेत.  महाराष्ट्र ज्युडिशियल अकॅडमी महिला व बालकल्याण विभाग प्रशिक्षण केंद्र,  'यशदा' यांच्यासह विविध स्वयंसेवी संस्थांमध्ये समुपदेशन विषयक प्रशिक्षण व व्याख्याने त्या देत आहेत.  वंचित विकासतर्फे 'कृतज्ञता राज्यस्तरीय पुरस्कार', 'नवदुर्गा पुरस्कार', 'कै.  प्रेमाताई कामतेकर स्मृती पुरस्कार' त्यांना प्राप्त झाले आहेत. डॉ. जोशी यांची 'अर्थ नात्यांचा'  (कौटुंबिक समुपदेशन), 'लग्नाचा जीपीएस' (विवाहपूर्व समुपदेशन) आणि  'कौटुंबिक वादासाठी विशेष न्यायव्यवस्था', कौटुंबिक  न्यायालय ही पुस्तके प्रकाशित झाली आहेत.

Author Dr. Smita Prakash Joshi holds degrees in MSW, LLM, and a PhD in Law.  Since January 1997, she has been working as a counselor in Pune. She has been  delivering training programs and lectures on counseling at various institutions,  including the  Maharashtra Judicial Academy, the Women and Child Welfare  Department Training  Center, YASHADA, and several  non-governmental organizations.

She has received several awards, including the Kritajnyata  State-Level Award from Vanchit Vikas, the Navdurga Award, and  the Late Prematai  Kamtekar Memorial Award.

Dr. Joshi has authored books such as “Arth Natyanchya”  (Family Counseling),  “Lagnacha GPS”  ( Pre-Marital Counseling), and “Special Judicial System for  Family Disputes – Family Court”.
