Shri Samarth Ramdas Swami Likhit Atmaram

समर्थ रामदास स्वामींचे नाव माहीत नाही, असा माणूस महाराष्ट्रात तरी सापडणे कठीणच! कडकडीत वैराग्य, प्रकांड बुद्धिमत्ता, अखंड भ्रमण, समाजचिंतन, आणि देशकार्यासाठी हनुमान मंदिरे स्थापून बलोपासनेचा संदेश देणारे रामदास स्वामी सदैव पूजनीय आहेत. त्यांची करूणाष्टके, मनाचे श्लोक, देवदेवतांच्या आरत्या आजही घरोघरी श्रद्धेने म्हटल्या जातात. दासबोध हा ग्रंथ तर सर्वसामान्यांना जीवनपाठ देणारा उपदेश आहे. त्याही पलीकडे साधकांना आत्मा, परमात्मा, कर्म, ईश्वर अशा विविध तत्त्वांचा बोध व्हावा, यासाठी स्वामींनी आत्माराम या ग्रंथाची रचना केली आहे. साधकांचे प्रश्न आणि स्वामींची उत्तरे अशा स्वरूपाच्या या ग्रंथातील तत्त्वविचार आजच्या साधकांसाठी व वाचकांसाठी सोप्या भाषेत रेणू दांडेकर यांनी मांडला आहे. 

It is difficult to find a person in Maharashtra who does not know the name of Samarth Ramdas Swami. He is eternally revered for his austere renunciation, profound intellect, continuous wandering, social contemplation, and his message of physical and mental strength through the establishment of Hanuman temples for national service.

His Karunashtakas, Manache Shlok, and various devotional hymns dedicated to gods and goddesses are still recited with devotion in many households. His great work Dasbodh serves as a guide for common people, offering life lessons and practical wisdom. Beyond this, to help spiritual seekers understand concepts such as the soul, the supreme soul, karma, and God, Swami composed the text Atmaram.

This work is presented in a question-and-answer format between seekers and the Swami. The philosophical teachings contained in this text have been explained in simple language by Renu Dandekar for modern readers and spiritual practitioners.
