लेखकाविषयी माहिती : डॉ. अविनाश सुपे यांनी एमएस, एफआरसीएस पदवी संपादन केली आहे. माजी संचालक आणि डीन म्हणून त्यांनी 'केईएम' तसेच वैद्यकीय शिक्षण आणि प्रमुख रुग्णालये, MCGM, मुंबई काम केले आहे. जठरांत्र शल्यचिकित्सा आणि वैद्यकीय शिक्षण, सेठ जीएस मेडिकल कॉलेज, मुंबई, येथे मानद प्राध्यापक म्हणूनही ते कार्यरत आहेत.
भारतातील वैद्यकीय क्षेत्रातील सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार 'डॉक्टर बी. सी. रॉय पुरस्कार', तसेच Medical Council of India, National Board of Examinations, Maharashtra Medical Council, ANBAI, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), FAIMER या सर्व राष्ट्रीय व आंतरराष्ट्रीय संस्थांचे उत्कृष्ट शिक्षक व डॉक्टर म्हणून पुरस्कार यांना मिळाले आहेत. राज्य, राष्ट्रीय आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय व्यासपीठांवर ६३ पुरस्कार त्यांना प्राप्त झाले आहेत. १२६ वेळा स्वैच्छिक रक्तदान केल्याबद्दल भारतीय सरकारतर्फे Centurion Donar पुरस्कारही त्यांनी मिळवला आहे.

About the Author: Dr. Avinash Supe holds MS and FRCS degrees. He has served as Director and Dean at KEM Hospital, as well as at other major hospitals and medical education institutions under MCGM, Mumbai. He is also a Professor Emeritus in Gastrointestinal Surgery and Medical Education at Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai.He has received India’s highest medical honor, the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, and numerous awards as an outstanding teacher and doctor from national and international institutions including the Medical Council of India, National Board of Examinations, Maharashtra Medical Council, ANBAI, MUHS, and FAIMER. He has been honored with 63 awards at state, national, and international platforms. For donating blood voluntarily 126 times, he also received the Centurion Donor Award from the Government of India.
