Dr Shantaram Gaikwad

१९९४ मध्ये क्रांतिसिंह नाना पाटील पशुवैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय, शिरवळ येथून त्यांनी पशुवैद्यकीय पदवी संपादन केली. मयूर सहकारी दूध संघ, कोल्हापूर येथे कार्याची सुरुवात करून पशुवैद्यकीय सेवा, कृत्रिम रेतन, पशुखाद्य उत्पादन व दूध संकलन क्षेत्रात महत्त्वपूर्ण काम केले. पुढे पुणे जिल्हा दूध संघात विस्तार सेवेचे काम करताना स्वच्छ दूध उत्पादन प्रकल्पात यो गदान दिले. गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासून गोविंद मिल्क अण्ड मिल्क प्रॉडक्ट्समध्ये कार्यरत राहून कमी खर्चाचा मुक्त संचार गोठा ही संकल्पना प्रभावीपणे राबवली, ज्यासाठी २०१० साली वसंतराव नाईक पुरस्कार मिळाला. त्यांनी मुरघास, आहार संतुलन, अझोला, हायड्रोपोनिक चा रा उत्पादन यांसारखे अनेक कमी खर्चाचे उपक्रम राबवले असून २०१३ साली ‘बेस्ट एक्स्टेंशन व्हेटेनरीयन’ पुरस्काराने सन्मानित झाले. तसेच त्यांनी शेतकऱ्यांसाठी मार्गदर्शनपर व्याख्याने देत “कमी खर्चाचा व जास्त फायद्याचा मुक्त संचार गोठा” हे पुस्तक प्रकाशित केले आहे.

Dr Shantaram Gaikwad
In 1994, he obtained his veterinary degree from Krantisinh Nana Patil  Veterinary College, Shirwal. He began his career with Mayur Cooperative  Milk Union, Kolhapur, where he made significant contributions in  veterinary services, artificial insemination, cattle feed production, and milk collection. He later worked with Pune District Milk Union in  extension services, contributing to clean milk production projects.  For several years, he has been associated with Govind Milk and Milk  Products, where he effectively implemented the low-cost free-stall housing concept, earning the Vasantrao Naik Award in 2010. He  has carried out several low-cost initiatives such as silage making, balanced feeding, azolla  cultivation, and hydroponic fodder production, and was honored with  the “Best Extension Veterinarian” award in 2013. He has also delivered  guidance lectures for farmers and authored the book “Low-cost and High-benefit Free-stall Housing.”
