About the authors

After becoming a Marine engineer in 1977, Prasad Godbole sailed for thirty six years on various types of ships. After retiring from active sailing, in order to pass on the knowledge and experience gained at sea to the next generation, he has taken up a position of professor in a Marine engineering College - Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies.

Mrs. Shubhada Godbole and daughter Punav sailed for many exciting years with her husband Prasad. After deciding to stop sailing, she went back to college as a student to learn about computers - a full twelve years after she had passed out of college as a science graduate. Thus armed, she started and ran a successful printing outfit for twenty two years before closing shop to take care of other responsibilities. She has founded and is running a ladies' literary group for the past thirty two years.
