लेखकाविषयी माहिती : स्वामी विवेकानंदांचा जन्म १२ जानेवारी, १८६३ला उत्तर कोलकत्ता सिमलापल्ली येथे झाला. त्यांचे नाव नरेंद्र ठेवण्यात आले होते. स्वामीजी एक भारतीय संन्यासी आणि तत्त्वज्ञ होते. रामकृष्ण परमहंस यांचे ते शिष्य होते. १९व्या शतकाच्या उत्तरार्धात हिंदू धर्माला प्रमुख जागतिक धर्माचा दर्जा प्राप्त करून देऊन आंतरधर्मीय जागरूकता वाढवण्याचे श्रेय विवेकानंदांना दिले जाते. १८९३मध्ये शिकागो येथील जागतिक धर्माच्या परिषदेत हिंदू धर्माचा परिचय स्वामी विवेकानंदांनी दिला. ४ जुलै १९०२ला त्यांनी कोलकात्याजवळील बेलूर मठात समाधी घेतली.

Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, in Simlapalli in North Kolkata. His birth name was Narendra. Swamiji was an Indian monk and philosopher and a disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

He is credited with introducing Hinduism to the global stage and promoting interfaith awareness in the late 19th century. In 1893, Swami Vivekananda introduced Hinduism at the World's Parliament of Religions 1893 held in Chicago.

On July 4, 1902, he attained samadhi at Belur Math near Kolkata.
