Through a meticulous study of contemporary miniature paintings, artist Bhaskar Hande has undertaken the task of revealing what Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj actually looked like. Applying the principle of "Ha Surya Ani Ha Jayadrath" (an expression signifying clear and conclusive evidence), he presents a well-reasoned and evidence-based interpretation of Shivaji Maharaj's true appearance.

The book also explores how various developments and events of the seventeenth century—including social, cultural, political, geographical, philosophical, and artistic influences—gradually unfolded and shaped the course of this research. Bhaskar Hande is the first Marathi student from India to study European painting in  the Netherlands.

· Independent freelance translator and interpreter for Dutch television productions

· Participant in various international seminars and conferences

· Participating artist in international triennial exhibitions held in the Netherlands,  France, Serbia, and India

Achievements and Awards

· Since 1976, participated in over 130 group exhibitions across India and Europe,  including several prestigious international biennial and triennial exhibitions.

o Recipient of the Maharashtra State Award in the Student Category:Fourth Prize in  1979

o Second Prize in 1981

· His book “Rangroop Abhangache” received the First Prize from the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Prakashak Sangh (All India Marathi Publishers Association), Pune, in 2019.

Bhaskar Hande's distinguished career spans the fields of visual arts, literature,  translation, and cultural exchange, making him a significant contributor to both  Indian and international artistic and literary communities.
