'ठिकरीची फोडणी' हा अशोक कांबळे यांचा पहिलाच कथासंग्रह असला, तरी त्यांच्या ह्या संग्रहातील कथा ऐंशीच्या दशकात बऱ्याच दिवाळी अंकांमधून प्रसिद्ध झाल्या आहेत. विशेष म्हणजे यातील काही काही कथांना पुरस्कारही मिळाले आहेत.
