आकार पटेल हे भारतीय पत्रकार, लेखक आणि मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ते असून समकालीन  भारतीय समाज आणि राजकारणावरील त्यांच्या तीक्ष्ण विश्लेषणासाठी ओळखले जातात.  1970 साली गुजरातमधील सुरत येथे त्यांचा जन्म झाला. त्यांनी Mid-Day आणि Deccan Chronicle सारख्या प्रमुख वृत्तसंस्थांमध्ये काम केले असून प्रशासन,  लोकशाही आणि नागरी स्वातंत्र्य यांसारख्या विषयांवर त्यांनी इंग्रजीमध्ये विस्तृत लेखन केले आहे.  2015 ते 2019 दरम्यान त्यांनी Amnesty International India या संस्थेचे कार्यकारी संचालक  म्हणून काम केले आणि नंतर ते त्याच्या मंडळाचे अध्यक्ष झाले, ज्यामुळे मानवाधिकार क्षेत्रातील  त्यांची भूमिका अधिक बळकट झाली. त्यांनी उर्दू लेखक सआदत हसन मंटो यांच्या साहित्याचे  इंग्रजीत भाषांतर करून ते व्यापक वाचकांपर्यंत पोहोचवले आहे. त्यांच्या प्रसिद्ध पुस्तकांमध्ये  Our Hindu Rashtra आणि Price of the Modi Years यांचा समावेश होतो, ज्यामध्ये  त्यांनी भारतातील राजकीय घडामोडींचे समीक्षात्मक विश्लेषण केले आहे. त्यांच्या लेखन आणि  सार्वजनिक सहभागामुळे ते भारतीय राजकारण आणि समाजावरील चर्चांमध्ये एक प्रभावी  आणि स्पष्टवक्ते आवाज म्हणून ओळखले जातात.

Aakar Patel is an Indian journalist, author, and human rights activist known  for his sharp political commentary and analysis of contemporary Indian  society. Born in 1970 in Surat, Gujarat, he has worked with several prominent  media organizations, including Mid-Day and Deccan Chronicle, and has written extensively in English on issues  such as governance, democracy, and civil liberties. He served as the  Executive Director of Amnesty International India from 2015 to 2019  and later became the Chair of its board, further strengthening his role in  human rights advocacy. Patel is also a noted translator, having brought  the works of Saadat Hasan Manto to English-speaking audiences.   Among his well-known books are Our Hindu Rashtra and Price of the  Modi Years, in  which he critically examines political developments in India.  Through his writing and public engagement, he has established himself as a  prominent and often outspoken voice in discussions on Indian politics and society.
