Chaitanya Guru Gorakshanath

प्राचीन काळापासून वेगवेगळ्या शतकात जन्मलेले, वेगवेगळ्या देशांमधील, विविध जातीजमातींचे लोक नाथ संप्रदायातील आदिनाथांपासून मत्स्येन्द्रनाथांसह सर्व नवनाथांची पूजा करीत आले आहेत. अनेक शतकांच्या कालावधीत या दैवतांनी विविध अवतार घेतले. भूतलावरील मर्त्य लोकांना संसारातील दुःखांमधून मुक्ती मिळावी, म्हणून त्यांनी उपदेश केला. जिथे केवळ शुद्ध आनंद आणि शांती आहे, अशा आत्मोद्धाराच्या मार्गाची दिशा त्यांनी लोकांना दाखवली. अवघड योगमार्ग साधक सांसारिकांसाठी खुला करण्याचे काम गोरक्षनाथांनी केले. तत्कालीन शैव आणि वज्रयान बौद्ध धर्मांना एकत्र आणणारा धागा म्हणून गोरक्षनाथ उर्फ गोरखनाथांचे कार्य विलक्षण आहे. गोरक्षनाथांच्या कार्याचा आढावा घेताना तत्कालीन समाजात प्रभावी असलेले धर्म, पंथ यांच्या कार्याचे स्वरूप उलगडण्याचा प्रयत्न या पुस्तकात केला आहे.

His work is remarkable as he served as a connecting thread between the Shaiva and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions of his time.
